Princess Announces 2025 Japan Program with Diamond Princess

According to a press release from Princess Cruises, the Diamond Princess will sail from Tokyo (Yokohama) to 36 destinations in three countries in the region from March through August 2025.

Mt. Fuji, Hiroshima, and ports along the historic Kitamaebune trading route will all be included in the target destinations, as well as the four main islands of Japan, the Okinawa Islands, and Taiwan.

The itinerary and offerings for our 2025 season have been crafted in conjunction with the local tourism boards to showcase the best in local art, cuisine, music and popular culture.

Here are a few highlights of the 2025 itinerary:

• Cruises to all four main islands following the blooming season from south to north during the 10-day and 11-day Spring Flowers cruises in March and April.
• Including a return to Hualien after two visits to the Okinawa islands and two visits to Taiwan.
• The Kitamaebune trading route is featured along nine-day and 10-day Sea of Japan voyages.
• Visiting Otaru (for Sapporo), Hakodate, and Kushiro over the course of a 10-day Hokkaido voyage.
• A 10-day Japan Explorer voyage with visits to Mt. Fuji, Kyoto, Osaka, and Hiroshima are among the most iconic destinations in the country.
• Taking a scenic cruise across the Kanmon Strait, which connects Honshu and Kyushu.

Diamond Princess’ 2025 itinerary also features the Aomori Nebuta Festival (August 2 and 7), Kochi Yosakoi Dance Festival (August 12), Tokushima Awa Dance Festival (August 13), and Kumano Fireworks Festival (August 17).

Besides Aomori, Kochi, and Shimizu, the princess revealed that there will be nighttime and overnight stays at Awa Odori, Nebuta, and Yosakoi festivals.
