Princess Cruises Strikes Partnership Deal with Chef Tony Gemignani

Princess Cruises entered a culinary partnership with the 13-time World Pizza Champion, Chef Tony Gemignani, as revealed in a press release. Chef Gemignani has crafted five distinctive pizzas for Princess, incorporating diverse flavors and ingredients such as Soppressata sausage with hot honey, and Gorgonzola with sweet fig preserve.

These unique pizzas by Chef Gemignani are set to make their debut at Alfredo’s on the new Sun Princess and are expected to be available across the entire fleet by the coming summer.
To ensure the authenticity of these pizzas at sea, chefs from Princess underwent specialized training at Chef Gemignani’s Tony’s Pizza Napoletana in San Francisco.

John Padgett, the president of Princess Cruises, emphasized the importance of delivering exceptional experiences, highlighting pizza as a critical element. He expressed the company’s intent to elevate their renowned pizza offerings to a whole new level through their collaboration with Chef Gemignani. “Tony is the ‘GOAT’ with unparalleled world championships, expertise and passion for crafting the perfect pizza,” he said.

In celebration of this new partnership, Princess Cruises plans to attempt setting a Guinness World Records title for the Largest Pizza Party at multiple venues on July 12. This event will showcase pizzas made by the cruise line’s master chefs, including the new creations by Chef Gemignani.

Chef Gemignani also expressed his excitement about the collaboration, “Bringing my original recipe hand-crafted pizzas inspired by the destinations Princess visits to the world-class line up of culinary offerings onboard its ships is not only exciting but an honor.” He highlighted the iconic status of Princess as the original “Love Boat,” recognized globally for its magnificent ships and offerings.
