Sun Princess cruise ship boasts first-of-a-kind family adventure spaces

By Cruise Booking Team

The Sun Princess will introduce several new family adventure spaces when she makes her debut early in 2024, a first for Princess Cruises.

A great example of this is Park19, which will occupy decks 19 through 21 on Sun Princess. Among the most unique features of Park19 is the rollglider, the first of its kind on a cruise ship. As guests glide along a suspended track at speeds up to 11 miles per hour (18 km), they will enjoy breathtaking views.

At Park19, a recreation area designed for families, Sea Breeze is just one of the many amenities on offer. Infinite Horizon also provides stunning views from its cantilevered tilted walls, as well as the Coastal Climb obstacle course.

Hammocks, splash areas, jogging paths and group classes will be available for those seeking a more relaxing experience.

In Park19, there will be dedicated play areas and lounges for kids, teens, and tweens.

It has traditionally been the case that cruise ships, especially those in the luxury and premium markets, cater to an older demographic. Despite this, cruise operators are now seeking to expand their market by appealing to a broader age group. In addition, Park19 offers vegan restaurants, ice skating, go-kart tracks, sushi-making classes, roller coasters, zip lines, wellness programs, and roller coasters. A new generation of travelers, millennials and Generation Z, who are starting families, have already taken note of these new offerings.

With a size of 25 percent larger than their previous largest ship, Sun Princess is being built at Italy’s Fincantieri shipyard. Guests of all ages can enjoy the expansive open-air recreation areas of Park19 onboard as ships continue to grow.
