Royal Caribbean Group recently announced its return to China in 2024 and is currently preparing to reintroduce the Spectrum of the Seas with a four- and seven-night itinerary.
We are open to sales in China. To bring back our employees over time, we went through a thoughtful process. Consequently, as we move into 2023, we will have more expenses, which we have accounted for in the forecast, and we have mitigated some of those expenses. Our Singapore office will provide most of the shared services required for a one-ship operation by 2024,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International.
During the company’s second quarter earnings call, Bayley said, “We’re in the early stages, but I see some positive signs.”
Bookings are going well, and we feel good about that. Our China operation is doing well and we feel comfortable with how we scale back our teams to sell, market, and operate it.
Bayley added that they “feel very positive about China” despite it being a restart year.
