Seabourn is putting together a strong lineup for 2023 with the addition of a second expedition ship and new management. According to Natalya Leahy, the brand’s president, sailing is about creating a sense of community among passengers and crew rather than just reaching destinations. She noted that Seabourn employs crew from 90 countries worldwide, allowing guests and crew members to build meaningful connections.
According to Leahy, deployment should be balanced between popular destinations and off-the-beaten-track destinations.A cruise conference in Florida, in March, saw her speak about taking guests to iconic places such as Barcelona, but also exploring boutique ports. Adding the Seabourn Pursuit to its fleet of expedition vessels in August makes Seabourn a bigger player in the polar regions and remote destinations.
Kimberley, an Australian region with excellent wildlife and a population of only 35,000, is one of the new places the company’s new ships will visit.
Guests interested in visiting destinations accessible by ship are particularly attracted to the expedition product, which helps cruise lines attract new travelers. Additionally, passengers continue to demand high-quality service with attention to detail and a personal touch while onboard. When people are treated with genuine care and their special needs are met, they feel appreciated, she said.
Additionally, guests are looking for a more simple, unpretentious, and authentic elegance in luxury hotels. “Our goal is to create an environment that’s relaxed, elegant, and accessible for these experiences.”
According to Seabourn’s Leahy, the company is looking at alternative fuels and investing in green features to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. Our ships will be equipped with food digesters and we will invest in technology that will help us achieve our goal,” she explained.
According to Leahy, sustainability must also be built into shipboard cultures and shoreside communities. There is more to our service than just what we do. In order for our team to be successful, they must be able to explain in detail what they do, why they do it, and how they do it.
