Silversea Announces its 150-Room Hotel in Chile

By Cruise Booking Team

Silversea shared its plans to build a new hotel in Puerto Williams, Chile, aiming to have it completed by the end of 2025. The idea is to make the experience even better for guests using its Antarctica Bridge fly-cruise program by offering top-notch service and comfort throughout their journey.

The 150-room hotel is being developed with a group of Chilean investors. The construction kicked off with a groundbreaking ceremony attended by local government representatives, key partners, and stakeholders. Silversea said the hotel would help provide a smoother travel experience for its guests exploring the region.

Jason Liberty, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group, said, “As we continue to push the boundaries on the ultimate vacation experience for our guests, this new hotel allows us to offer an unmatched Antarctic expedition that further enhances our diverse portfolio of world-class vacations across our brands.” By teaming up with local experts in Chile, the company wants to give travelers a unique way to explore one of the most remote and awe-inspiring destinations.

According to Silversea, it’s currently the only cruise line that uses Puerto Williams as a homeport during the Antarctica season. With its spot in the sub-Antarctic Patagonia region at the southern tip of South America, Puerto Williams is a perfect starting point for anyone wanting to see the world’s least visited continent.

Bert Hernandez, president of Silversea, added that the new hotel will improve the overall experience by removing typical travel hassles for guests exploring Antarctica. He further said, “This development not only differentiates us from other polar expeditions but also reaffirms our commitment to innovation and excellence as Silversea continues to set the standard in experiential luxury travel.”

The hotel will overlook the Beagle Channel, offering beautiful views of the water and snow-covered Patagonian mountains. It’ll include a restaurant, a bar and lounge, a fitness center, and a gift shop featuring local handicrafts and artwork.
