With approximately 1,800 artworks by 59 artists from 25 countries, Silversea’s newest ship, the Silver Nova, boasts the largest art collection on board so far.
Founder and president of Silversea, Barbara Muckermann, said that the entire Silversea experience is tailored to the interests and expectations of our curious guests. A visual journey of discovery and self-enrichment awaits guests on board Silver Nova thanks to our immersive and experience-led voyages that highlight our planet’s most remarkable cultures. It is as spectacular as the innovative architecture of our newest ship with approximately 1,800 artworks by almost 60 artists.”
Among Silver Nova’s art collection are over 1,250 framed works, nine installations, eight sculptures, as well as antiques, Murano glass vases, and art books.
It is the purpose of the collection to add dimension, context, and meaning to Silver Nova, said Mariangela Capuzzo, chief creative officer of ICArt, which curated it. It captivates guests’ intellect and imagination. It was our intention to create a visual impact that sparked curiosity, both visually and conceptually. A new way of sensing, being, and discovering is illuminated by our curatorial approach to Silver Nova. Exploring cultures and destinations across the globe is the goal.”
