Viking has announced plans to introduce six new itineraries in Asia, offering exclusive access to destinations in Japan and China, including Tibet (Xizang), in 2025. According to a press release, these voyages, which range from 15 to 22 days, will visit cities such as Shanghai, Beijing, Xi’an, Lhasa, and Osaka. Viking stated that the itineraries are designed to focus on rare destinations and ports in China that are only accessible through Viking, featuring immersive experiences, lectures, and regionally inspired cuisine.
Bookings for these new itineraries, which will operate from September to November 2025 aboard the Viking Yi Dun (formerly Viking Sun), are now open. Torstein Hagen, chairman and CEO of Viking, expressed pride in launching the second season of these exclusive itineraries, highlighting exploration along the China coast as unique to Viking. He further noted, “for centuries, these phenomenal destinations in Asia have inspired travelers with ancient history and rich culture. Our guests are curious travelers who travel as a way to broaden their minds, and we look forward to introducing more of Asia to them in 2025.”
