The Seabourn Odyssey was manufactured by the Italian company T. Mariotti S.p.A. Based in Genoa, Italy and named in Venice. On this occasion, all of the guests on board the maiden voyage were honored as the ship's godmothers, and a plaque bearing their names was permanently installed on the ship's interior wall. The Seabourn Odyssey was designed by the same team of architects who designed the original Seabourn ship, Petr Ilan and Björn Stoubraten.
