The Sun Princess is the third ship of its kind in Princess Cruises' history and will debut in October 2024. It has a lot to live up to, and it does a great job! Princess Cruises listened to what passengers wanted and made the Sun Princess a top choice. It has nearly 30 places to eat on board and improved entertainment and activities.
New guests and regulars will be amazed right from the beginning when they get on the Sun Princess. What's cool is that 70% of the cabins have balconies, more than any other Princess ship. This means guests can enjoy amazing views of places like the Greek Isles or beautiful pink beaches in the Caribbean.

Princess Medallion Class vacations make cruising easy and customized. They use a small device called Medallion® that does a lot, like helping you board without touching anything and finding your family on the ship. This tech also offers extra services:
You can start your vacation early and keep some space from others. Here’s how:
If your hands are full, don’t worry! Your room door will open when you walk up to it. You won’t need a key.
You can buy things without cash or cards. Just use MedallionPay™. The crew will check your face and location to confirm your identity. Plus, you can easily see how much you’re spending onboard.
Stay connected anywhere on the ship with MedallionNet® Wi-Fi. You can email, text, video chat, and even stream shows or music.
You can choose when, how, and where you eat. Make reservations through Dine My Way for different dining spots and times. There might be limits depending on how many people each place can fit.
*The time for reservations will be decided based on how many spots are open at the place and when it's free.
The "Crew Appreciation" is the amount charged per day to each guest's onboard account. It's a way to acknowledge the hard work of various crew members who contribute to the guests' experiences. Crew members from different departments, often rotating between ships, are eligible for these funds. The amount charged varies based on the stateroom category:
Stateroom Category | Daily amount per guest |
---|---|
Interior, Oceanview, and Balcony | US $16 |
Mini-Suite and Reserve Collection | US $17 |
Suites | US $18 |
Guest satisfaction is a priority, and the onboard team is available to address any concerns during the cruise. If, for any reason, a guest remains dissatisfied, they can adjust the Crew Appreciation charge at any time before settling the onboard account at the end of the cruise. However, if the charge is not adjusted while on board, it becomes final and nonrefundable.
A non-refundable Service Charge, ranging from 17% to 18% of the purchase, is automatically added to optional onboard purchases like beverage packages, drinks, dining room and specialty dining, private group functions, and other selected products or services not included in the Cruise Fare. The Service Charge is based on the specific service or product purchased:
Service/Product | Service Charge |
---|---|
Specialty Dining | 18% (included in total cover charge) |
Specialty Food Items | 18% (included in total item charge) |
Drink Packages | 18% |
Drinks | 18% |
Corkage Fee | 18% (included in total charge) |
Private Group Functions | 18% (of total cost) |
Spa Services* | 18% |
*Service Charge payments for spa services are not pooled for the fleet.
If guests pre-paid the Crew Appreciation or Service Charge as part of a package, these payments are bundled into the fare and are nonrefundable once purchased, except as part of the cruise fare following the cancellation policy. No additional amounts for Crew Appreciation or covered Service Charges are added to the onboard account in such cases.
All Crew Appreciation and Service Charge payments made by guests across the fleet are pooled (after deducting credit card transaction fees). These pooled funds are distributed as compensation, including bonuses, to crew members who directly interact with guests or work behind the scenes throughout the year. These crew members belong to areas such as Bar, Dining, Entertainment, Housekeeping, Guest Services, Galley, and Onboard Revenue.
*Service Charge payments for spa services are not pooled for the fleet.
