The Grandeur of the Seas, registered in the Bahamas, was built at Kvaerner Masa-Yards in Turku, Finland. It first set sail on its maiden voyage on December 14, 1996, and was refurbished in May 2012. Aviva Ofer, the wife of Sammy Ofer and mother of Eyal Ofer, who serves on Royal Caribbean's Board of Directors, is the ship's godmother. On all our ships it is customary to tip staff for their excellent service and attention to detail. Service charges can be prepaid as part of the reservation. This can be divided into restaurant staff, flight attendants and other cleaning service staff. If you choose not to prepay the service fee before the cruise, a service fee of $14.50 per guest per day will be automatically added to each guest's SeaPass account. For Grand Suite guests and above, the amount she pays is $17.50.
An 18% service charge is also automatically added to beverages and beverage packages, mini-bar items, spa & salon purchases as well as specialty dining products, including packages, classes and brunches.
